Elementor form not sending email

Elementor forms send email only if an Email action has been added after submit. A form can be built, styled and published without one, and it will look completely normal.

Why this happens

01

No Email action in Actions After Submit

The most common cause by far. Without it the form collects nothing and notifies nobody, while still showing a success message.

02

Submissions stored but not emailed

If only the Collect Submissions action is present, entries appear under Elementor → Submissions and no email is ever sent.

03

From address outside your domain

Elementor uses wp_mail(), so the usual SPF and DMARC rules apply.

04

Elementor Pro licence lapsed

The form widget is a Pro feature. When a licence expires, form behaviour can degrade without the page visibly changing.

How to check it yourself

  1. 01Open the form widget → Actions After Submit and confirm Email is listed.
  2. 02Check Elementor → Submissions to see whether entries are arriving.
  3. 03Confirm the From address is on your own domain.
  4. 04Verify the Elementor Pro licence is active.

The part you cannot check once

Fixing it is the easy half. Knowing it stays fixed is the hard half.

Every cause above can come back without anyone touching the page. API keys rotate, plugins update, DNS records get edited, licences lapse. The form still renders, still accepts the enquiry, still says thank you — and nothing arrives.

FormWatcher submits an identifiable test enquiry on a schedule and confirms it actually reaches your inbox. If delivery stops, you hear about it — rather than working it out from a quiet month.

Common questions

My Elementor form shows a success message but sends nothing.
Check Actions After Submit first. If no Email action is configured, the form is behaving exactly as built — it simply was never told to send anything.
